It gives me an immense pleasure to express my views towards the development of Computer Engineering Department. Besides a very strong and disciplined Academics,Department has started different Forums and Hobby Clubs for the overall development of students. Department has established Industry linkages and MOUs and set up Centre of Excellence (CoE) for enhancing the Employability Skills of students. Mentorship activities and regular Alumni interaction with students helps in developing social, technical and parental connect.
Students are having enormous talents and creativity which are being explored by extra co-curricular activities like Group Discussion, debate, Extempore, Programming contests, project competition etc. organized under different professional bodies like IEEE, CSI, GFG as well Departmental association. Every year we observe lots of achievements in both academics and extra-curricular activities. Throughout the year on behalf of professional bodies and department association, lots of activities are conducted. Many students participated in these activities and the activities outside the college and bagged number of prizes.
There were several studies conducted in India to know the employability skills of the students. As per the survey taken by Nasscom and Aspiring Minds, it is found that about 75% of the Indian graduates are unemployable and the current talent pool has very low employability with regard to IT product companies. The gap in skills for students is not only in Computer Engineering domains, but equally in English and Logical abilities. The gap in Quantitative ability is the highest. Globalization and rapid technological evolutions gives rise to many challenges. Continuous learning and keeping upgrade with recent technology is the need for today’s professionals. Therefore, qualities like lifelong conceptual learning, strong verbal and analytical skills, good written and oral communication skills, creativity and hardworking with high ethical standards need to inculcate among the students. Having passion towards your desired goal is not sufficient. It’s not the smart work but the smart along with hard work is essential to achieve the mile stones.
Lastly, I congratulate the creative and sincere efforts taken by my faculty members and students for the achievement of Computer Department and I wish all of them a very happy and lifelong learning with great success in their bright future!!
